ABSTRACT

Effective communication is the key for nurses to achieve patient safety based on patient safety standards in hospitals. ISBAR and SBAR Communications (Introduction, Situation, Background, Assessment, Recomendation) are communications using logical tools to organize information so that it can be transferred to others accurately and efficiently. Communication using ISBAR and SBAR structured tools to achieve critical thinking skills, and save time. The nurse is the most energy and has more contact time with the patient than the other health workers, so they have an important role in determining the good quality of hospital health services. The purpose of the study to analyze the effectiveness of SBAR communication training in improving motivation and psychomotor nurses in the medical treatment room of Surgical Hospital PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The research used experimental research design with pre-test approach and post-test only within control Group. Samples with total sampling and determination of control and intervention groups with random sampling. Independent variables: SBAR communication training, dependent variable: motivation and psychomotor. The result of t paired pair of motivation with value 0,005 (p <0,05), psychomotor paired t test result with significancy value 0,000 (p <0,05), t value unpair motivation 0,117 (p> 0,05). The result of t test is not psychomotor pairs 0,018 (p <0,05). Conclusion there is a significant difference of motivation value before and after SBAR communication training, there is significant difference of psychomotor value before and after SBAR communication training, there is no significant difference of motivation value of intervention group and control, there is significant difference of psychomotor value between intervention group and controlKeyword : Communication Training SBAR, Motivation, Psychomotor, Nurse.
