ABSTRACT
Abstract Less optimal learning result of student’s mathematics often cause less satisfaction at teacher. This is due to less innovative learning and less optimal utilization of media. Related to that, conducted research that aims to know the significant differences in the results of learning mathematics between groups of students who were taught by cooperative learning model type open ended audio visual assisted media with groups of students which is learned through conventional learning in grade V students of SD Mengwi Badung in the academic year 2013/2014. This research is a quasi-experimental research with “nonequivalent control group design” design. The population of this research is the students of class V SD Gugus II Mengwi Badung Regency for the academic year 2013/2014 consisting of 8 classes with 265 students. The sample of the study was determined by random sampling and determined as many as 2 classes with 80 students. The result of the study of mathematics in this study is a combination of cognitive ability data collected by the test and affective data collected through observation during learning. Data were analyzed by t-test. Based on a significant level of 5% and db = 78 ttable = 2,000, while based on testing the value of tcount = 3.44. The result of the analysis shows the significant difference of mathematics learning outcomes between the students group which is taught by the open ended model of cooperative learning with the audio visual aid with the group of students that is learned through conventional learning. Related to that, it can be concluded that the open ended cooperative learning model assisted audio visual media significantly influence on the results of learning mathematics students of class V SD Gugus II Mengwi Badung regency school year 2013/2014. The result shows significant differences in students’ results between experiment group and control group.
