ABSTRACT

The main objective of this study was to examine the effect of conflict resolution approach on learning achievement in terms of social attitude level of grade XI students at SMAN 1 Kuta Selatan. These objectives can be further detailed into several specific research objectives, namely: (1) to know the difference of learning achievement of Civics between learning using conflict resolution approach with learning using conventional approach, (2)  To know the difference of learning achievement of Civics in students who have social attitude (3) to know the difference of Civics achievement in students who have low social attitudes between the learning using conflict resolution with learning using conventional approach, and (4) to know the effect of interaction between the use of resolution approach conflicts and social attitudes toward the achievement of Civic learning in students of grade XI SMAN 1 Kuta Selatan. This research uses experimental research design in the form of post test only control group design, with 2×2 factor design involving three variables, consisting of two independent variables and one dependent variable. First independent variable is conflict resolution approach  as treatment variable and second independent variable is social attitude (B) as moderator variable, while the dependent variable is learning achievement of Civics. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 South Kuta in the even semester of 2011/2012 lesson. The research was done by multistage Random Sampling. The test of the research hypothesis was done by using two-way Analisys of variance (ANOVA) technique. The result of research indicate that: (1) there are difference of learning achievement of Civics between students whose learning using conflict resolution approach with  student which learning using conventional approach, (2)  there is a difference  Civics learning achievement between students learning using conflict resolution approach  with  students learning using conventional approach to students who have high social attitudes,  (3)  there is a difference  learning achievement of Civics among students learning using conflict resolution approach  with  student learning using conventional approach (4) there is an interaction effect between the use of conflict resolution approach and social attitude toward learning achievement of Civics in students of grade XI SMAN 1 Kuta Selatan.
