ABSTRACT

Non-Governmental Organization Iodine Deficiency Movement (IDD) or with the English name Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD) Indonesia is an institution managed by experts in the field of medicine, most of whom are lecturers in the medical faculty of UNDIP (Diponegoro University) Semarang. GAKY is a branch of the independent IDDNET institution, an institution that oversees the iodine deficiency of the world community. IDDNET works under full funding from WHO (World Healt Organization). In addition to supervising Indonesia, GAKY also conducts research and community service related to iodine deficiency. To publish the results of their research, GAKY publishes scientific journals which are published 3 times a year. Publication is also carried out through the internet through its official website www.iddindonesia.net. But the published journal has not been summarized in a neat database structure. So it needs to be designed and built a web-based journal database with data management using text files that match the needs in GAKY Journal. Starting from the background above, the problem of this research can be formulated, namely how to design and build a web-based journal database system with data management using text files that are suitable for the needs on the site www.iddindonesia.net. System development method in this study uses the Waterfall approach. The use of CMS Cutenews is quite helpful in managing text file data, Cutenews can be used if the database service is not provided on the server like Mysql. The use of text files as storage media is indeed very easy to install, but the process of making programs is very difficult. Adding attributes and tables cannot be done instantly like RDBMS.
