ABSTRACT

The availability of adequate electrical energy triggers the development of regional development both from the household, social, public service, business and industry sectors, thereby encouraging economic development and the level of welfare of a region’s people. This final project aims to forecast the needs of the community’s electricity power in 2012 – 2020 for Siau and plan the Siau distribution system in 2020. The data needed include Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), population, number of customers per sector, total consumption, power installed electricity per sector tariff and peak load as well as some other supporting data. Data processing for forecasting electricity needs using DKL 3.02. Forecasting results in 2012 – 2020 in the household sector for the number of customers – average growth each year is 3.1%, business sector 1.5%, public sector 5.7% and industry 0%. For installed expenses in 2012-2020 the average growth in the household sector was 2.8%, the business sector 1.5%, the public sector 5.6% and the industrial sector 0%. For electricity energy consumption in 2012-2020 the average growth in the household sector is 25%, the business sector 40.7%, the public sector 31.4% and the industrial sector 0%. While for the peak load in 2012-2020 the average growth was 25.5%. Before the addition of new equipment or distribution system in Siau, of course, it must be known which area will be the target of the planning location. Because Siau is the location of the new district capital which is in bloom, the possibility of development in various sectors will continue to be carried out, for example the construction of offices, airfields, trade centers, and so on. There are also many villages where the population is quite large but cannot enjoy electricity. In this case PLN has planned to continue to try so that the entire area in Siau can be served by electricity.
