ABSTRACT

Temperature and humidity are the two measuring objects often encountered in the data acquisition system. There are many sensor devices that serve to measure the two objects and accuracy is one of the parameters that can be used to select it. DHT11 and DHT22 are DHT series sensors from Aosong Electronics that can measure temperature and humidity simultaneously with digital output. Information on accuracy is contained in the second datasheet. Although this information does not describe the actual conditions when operated on a particular location or platform. The purpose of this study was to compare the accuracy of DHT11 and DHT22 in temperature and humidity measurements when operated indoors or outdoors, using ATMEL AVR and Arduino platforms. Based on the tests done, DHT22 has a better accuracy than DHT11 with a relative error measurement of 4% temperature and 18% humidity. DHT11 otherwise has a wider error range of 1 â ???? 7% and 11 â ???? 35%, respectively for the measurement of temperature and humidity. Location and platform differences do not affect the measurement results. Moisture errors that are still above 10% indicate the need to re-calibrate. In the future, in addition to accuracy, precision also needs to be tested using standard deviation calculations on measurement results.
