ABSTRACT

Employment delays and increased project finance are one of the worst management failures. In general, the most commonly used construction project management system is the Conventional management system, where there are often many obstacles in the fieldwork execution due to overlapping activities on construction projects that may cause delays and increased financing. There is also an Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) management system that can be applied to construction projects. To compare both Conventional management systems with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) management can be done by comparing efficiency to cost and time of construction project. calculations have been made, hence obtained some conclusions and conclusions, that is when reviewing the scheduling of project activities from the design andengineering stage, procurement, and implementation (construction) which can be presented in the form of Gant Chart. In the scheduling of project activities with conventional management system, the project duration for the design and engineer phase during 135 calendar days, for procurement stage during 145 calendar days, and on the construction stage for 450 calendar days, while the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) management system produces duration projects for the design phase and steering for 73 calendar days, for procurement stage for 37 calendar days, and during construction stage for 418 calendar days. When viewed on the calculation of scheduling calculations with Micosoft Project 2007, the duration obtained with Conventional Management is 735 calendar days, while with Engineering Management, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) is 528 calendar days. Meanwhile, if reviewed from Total Budget Cost (RAB) for structural work with Conventional management of Rp. 20,802,289,015,68, and on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) management of Rp. 20.696.132.086,83. Thus a construction project using Engineering Management, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) can have efficiency on the cost of Rp. 106.156.928,90. So it can be concluded that the most effective and efficient management system that can be applied to the construction project is Engineering Management System, Procurement, and Construction (EPC).
